Welcome to the Kharkov Children's Fund, a 501c3 charity devoted to helping with children's health issues in Kharkov, Ukraine. We are a very special charity, in that we have an all volunteer staff, and we purchase medical equipment and deliver it directly to institutions in need. Thus your donations go directly to helping children.

We started our charitable work in December 2005, with the purchase of a special heart monitor for children. Prior to this purchase, the hospital was unable to diagnose when children with certain conditions needed open heart surgery, and would need to send them to a hospital that was a 7 hour journey away. This machine is now in constant use.

Our current campaign is focused on broadening to help additional hospitals.

Our work is conducted in an area with deep need, and an in area without benefactors. Even our small gestures make a huge difference, and can inspire others.

During our most recent trip, we learned that the wife of the President of Ukraine visited one of the hospitals where we donated equipment. The hospital staff showed off the heart monitor, and noted that it was given by an American charity. Not to be outdone, Yuschenko's wife wrote them a check for $20,000. Then, the Mayor of Kharkov learned about this, and likewise donated $20,000. Now if only a few more dignitaries will visit...
